Kim and Kristina here! We are “sew” excited to announce our Christmas Quilt Along with Shabby Fabrics (pattern by Tilda)! The Christmas Calendar Quilt caught our attention (Kim is obsessed), and we’re so excited to sew together as a community.

We’ve done a quilt along on our Watch & Learn YouTube channel, but THIS quilt along will be a bit different. For this quilt along (specific details below), we’ll connect via a private Facebook group, build our quilting community, and share our progress as we go. (We’ll do lives and other updates here as well.)

#1: Pattern, Quilt Kit, & Fabric Options

We are using this free pattern from Tilda for our Christmas Quilt Along, which you can download here. The team at Tilda is excited for us to use this pattern!

“And what about fabrics?!?!” you may ask.

We are excited to partner with our friends at Shabby Fabrics, who have created a beautiful quilt kit for the Christmas Calendar Quilt. These joyous fabrics are from Tilda’s Creating Memories collection, which we love. We love how Shabby Fabrics quilt kits are put together, and we have had a blast putting together their quilt kits in the past.

With that, you may want to select your own fabrics! We love that! We will make multiple versions of this quilt from Shabby Fabrics and Kim’s Fabric Stash TM. 😉

We encourage you to choose the fabric that makes your heart happy!

#2: Calendar

For this quilt along, we’ll be piecing AND quilting this quilt together! We are excited to show the different ways to quilt the Christmas Calendar Quilt on Handi Quilter longarm machines.

• Week 1 (Sept 9): Print your {free} pattern, gather your fabrics, and start planning! Take time to read through the pattern and make notes
• Week 2 (Sept 16): Snowman block – make 4
• Week 3 (Sept 23): Christmas Tree block – make 4
• Week 4 (Sept 30): Gingerbread House block – make 4
• Week 5 (Oct 7): Apple Block – make 4
• Week 6 (Oct 14): Goose Block – make 4
• Week 7 (Oct 21): Christmas Stocking Block – make 4
• Week 8 (Oct 28): Assemble your quilt
• Week 9 (Nov 4): Quilting time! And don’t forget to add the embroidery and buttons when you’re done quilting 🙂
• Week 10 (Nov 11): Binding & the big reveal!
