Surprise! Quilt-Along

We had so much fun with the Seeing Stars quilt-along. Seeing all your quilts was amazing! So we are starting another quilt-along this month. The Surprise! Quilt-along is the perfect quilt for any celebration, featuring little gifts tied with ribbons. And if you keep up with the steps you’ll have a finished quilt by the end of November. Perfect for the winter holidays!

The pattern is available on our website. You can download it FREE until Aug 7, 2023. So hurry over to the link and get yours! After the 7th the pattern will be available for purchase.

This month we will be selecting fabrics, cutting and piecing the blocks. It’s a much simpler quilt than Seeing Stars, so getting all that done in a month should be a cinch.

I am opting for a Christmas color palette. Once again, I want to try to shop my stash. I have a few layer cakes, but none of them are Christmas. I pulled some other options from my stash.

A more muted sophisticated palette, but still Christmas/winter. I would need to find more coordinating fabrics to give it more variety, but its a good start. I love this palette and can likely find blenders in my stash.

Or a traditional bright Christmas red and green theme?

Which one should I choose? Maybe I should make both?

I think I also want to make a table topper with bright birthday themed fabrics. I have the perfect border/backing fabric for that one!

Those rolls are 9″ strips. I’ll have to figure out if they will work or not once I take a look at the cutting instructions.

It is so hard to choose!

I am going to visit my friends Ginny, Connie and Pam in a few weeks so I invited them to quilt along as well. We are going to sew together for a whole week! We might take a few field trips to some quilt shops too. Pam and Ginny got on-board right away. Connie  is thinking about it. Here are their fabric choices.
