Carrie Fondi began her quilting journey in 1992, teaching herself how to quilt and quickly developing a passion for the craft. Her expertise shines brightest in Hawaiian quilting—a skill she honed through dedicated study with master Hawaiian quilters. In 2008, Carrie founded Aloha Quilt Designs, blending her love for quilting with her admiration for the beauty of the Hawaiian Islands. While she finds hand quilting relaxing and rewarding, she also appreciates the efficiency of machine quilting. After purchasing her first Handi Quilter Sweet 16 in 2012, she transitioned to quilting daily on her Amara.
Carrie’s enthusiasm for quilting is evident in her teaching; since 2008, she has shared her knowledge at quilt shops, guilds, national quilt shows, and even quilting cruises, inspiring students across the U.S. Known for her engaging approach, Carrie is passionate about inspiring creativity through free-motion quilting and enjoys teaching Pro-Stitcher computerized quilting to those new to long arm quilting. She finds great fulfillment in witnessing the moment of excitement and understanding that comes when students realize the possibilities that long arm quilting can bring to their own quilt projects.
