#1: Your local retailer has Handi Quilter classes

Fun fact: If your local quilt shop carries Handi Quilter machines, they likely host Handi Quilter education events, with our team of 35+ stupendous National Educators!

Sometimes, your local quilt shop will call these “Truck Events” or “Van Events.” They do this because our team at Handi Quilter will send out a literal truck or van with Handi Quilter machines for you to learn on! We also send out 1-2 National Educators (the best of the best!) to teach you how to level-up on Pro-Stitcher or your longarm machine.

Things to Note!

Classes:

• Are typically 2-3 days! (Sometimes, a quilt shop will offer a morning and afternoon session)
• Do have a fee
• Have ~2 people to an Amara machine
• Are GREAT for quilters new to longarm quilting, who want to try a machine before they purchase one
• Are GREAT for experienced quilters who want to level-up their skills and knowledge

#2: Handi Quilter Academy!!

Wow, every year Handi Quilter Academy gets BETTER AND BETTER! Handi Quilter Academy is a 3-day event held near Handi Quilter headquarters at the Davis Convention Center. It is packed with longarm education events, fun costumes, new quilter BFFs, and more. Like #1 in our list, many of our Handi Quilter National Educators teach at this event!

Quilters fly-in from around the WORLD for this event, and it is such a wonderful quilting education experience.

Things to Note!

Handi Quilter Academy:

• Is held every June, with registration opening up to the public in late January or February
• Does have a fee that includes meals (does not include hotel or travel)
• Tracks are designed for just about every type of quilter! New quilters and experienced quilters have tracks to pick from
• Has delicious food and snacks!! Just saying! 😉

#3: Handi Quilter Retreats in North Salt Lake City

Next up, let’s talk about Handi Quilter Retreats! These classes are designed by our Studio Educators, and are such a blast!

#4: Quilt Shows & Conferences

Handi Quilter sends our trucks and vans (full of Amara machines and other goodies!) across the USA and Canada! Often, we will host Handi Quilter education classes at larger quilt shows and conferences (ex: Quilt Festival in Houston, TX).

Typically, Handi Quilter will be listed as an education option on the website for the quilt show or conference!

#5: Handi Quilter education classes on YouTube – Free online education

In addition to these in-person learning events, you can also learn on YouTube! Each week our Handi Quilter Studio Educators, Kristina and Kim, share a tutorial on a longarm quilting topic. They cover everything from how to keep your quilts from turning out wonky, to more complex and sophisticated quilting topics!

Kristina and Kim premiere each video LIVE each week, answering questions in the chat! You can join every Tuesday at 12noon Mountain Time for the live chat, and you can also watch other videos as you please!
