Manon Hunt has never met a quilt she didn’t want to talk about.

She grew up surrounded by fabric and creativity, spending hours under her mother’s hand-quilting frame and learning everything from knitting to needlework along the way.

In her early twenties, she rediscovered quilting, making her first quilt on her own, and was instantly hooked.

That passion led Manon to open her own quilt shop in 2002. Within a year, she was longarm quilting for others as well as teaching quilting, and has been happily doing both ever since, considering it a true privilege to play a small part in each quilter’s story.

Today, Manon runs Mom & Me Quilting Co. from her home studio, aptly named “Happy Place,” where she continues to quilt for clients (on her Amara 24® with Pro-Stitcher®) and teach both online and in-person workshops focused on free-motion quilting, ruler work, and custom quilting.

Her classes invite students to explore quilting designs in a fun, approachable way.

She loves sharing ideas and creating a relaxed, encouraging space where curiosity and experimentation are always welcome — helping students build confidence and discover new creative possibilities in their quilting.
