Hands-On Longarm Classes at QuiltCon 2026
Step into the world of modern longarm quilting with hands-on classes designed to build confidence, creativity, and skill. Each class is $35 and intentionally kept small—just 12 students, with two students per machine—so you’ll get plenty of guided practice time. Whether you’re exploring free-motion techniques, mastering clean modern lines, turning scraps into something beautiful, or adding artistic detail with digital quilting tools, these sessions are focused on learning by doing. Come ready to experiment, stitch, and leave inspired.

Shape Shifters: Modern Free-Motion Quilting
Learn fundamental free-motion quilting techniques/settings using a longarm machine. Practice control, flow, and creativity to confidently quilt a variety of designs — from geometric lines to organic shapes — across different quilt sections.

Ruling the Modern Line
In this class, you will learn how to safely and effectively use rulers on a longarm quilting machine to create straight lines, curves, and simple designs. We’ll focus on control, consistency, and confidence while working on a quilt block.

Scrap-Happy QAYG Journal Covers
Fabric scraps can add texture, color interest, and dimension to a longarm-quilted project. This technique works well for small projects, art quilts, and creative backgrounds. Using fabric scraps you will complete a Journal/Book cover on a longarm.

Outline to Artwork: Custom Fills with Pro-Stitcher
Take your Pro-Stitcher skills to the next level by transforming a simple outline into a stunning work of art! Using Pro-Stitcher tools, create custom fills that bring the owl design to life while learning techniques to add texture and dimension using just thread and creativity.
