Anna Orduña

Anna was born and raised in Barcelona ,Spain, to a family with no sewing or quilting tradition.  It was when her eldest son arrived that she started looking for some quilting classes to make him nice “blankets”, bibs and  other baby items.

It took her a couple of years to find a good teacher, but when she did, it opened up a new world of real quilting, and the most important part, being able to quilt and sew with her home sewing machine, because she wanted to make lots of quilts.

In 2007 she discovered free motion quilting.  Since then she has been improving her quilting skills and experimenting with different designs. She mostly uses solid fabrics for her own quilts to enhance every single stitch of her quilting.

Anna loves teaching and sharing her tips with other people.

Now author of two quilting books: Quilts and Acolchado libre, ideas paso a paso (Free motion quilting, ideas step by step). She is an award winning quilter in the Festival Internacional de Patchwork (International Patchwork Festival), the most important quilt show in Spain.  Currently, she offers longarm quilting services, teaches in local quilt shops in Barcelona and collaborates with a quilting magazine.

Anna loves to quilt modern quilts on her HQ Sweet Sixteen and on her HQ Infinity, combining FMQ and ProStitcher.

Anna lives in Sant Cugat, a town in the suburbs of Barcelona (Spain) with her husband and her two awesome teenage children. They spend their free time going to watch her son play soccer matches and her daughter participate in dance competitions. https://www.facebook.com/annaorduna.quiltsandpatch/
