Adam Rateliff

Adam Rateliff grew up in a family full of fiber artists. His grandmother could create anything with a needle and embroidery floss; his mother was a very talented sewist, especially with garments and costumes. He remembers, at a young age, sitting and watching his mother create, and one day asked her to teach him to sew. He has retained those skills and built on them throughout his life, knowing he could make anything he might need on the sewing machine. He began quilting six years ago and began drooling over longarms shortly after beginning quilting. He looked forward to having the freedom to finish his quilting projects himself and the creativity that would inspire. After much thought, and some good friends for support, he purchased a Handi Quilter Infinity with Pro-Stitcher, and has been quilting professionally ever since.

Adam enjoys teaching quilting classes at local shops, guilds, and in his home studio. His passion is paper piecing and he enjoys seeing others get excited about it along with him. He also spends time helping and encouraging other longarm owners to step out of their comfort zone, whether it be with rulers, free motion quilting, or creatively blending Pro-Stitcher designs with free motion work. He loves to show other Handi Quilter owners how to navigate around their machines and help them build confidence in their adventure. Adam is also a member of the Handi Quilter Inspiration Squad.

A native of California, he currently resides in Oregon with his family and their dogs. He loves the beauty and inspiration the Pacific Northwest provides on a daily basis. You can view his work at, or on social media. Instagram - @jadm22, Facebook - Covered Wagon Quilting.
