UV light set containing six three-prong lights for the HQ Avanté. Sold as a set.
CAUTION! Looking directly into the UV lights or prolonged exposure to the UV lights can damage your eyes. Limit the use of the UV lights to avoid permanent eye damage. Use of UV A/B blocking sunglasses will reduce eye strain and limit the effects of prolonged exposure to UV lighting.
Users who have had cataract surgery should not use the UV lighting unless they have had UV A/B blocking replacement lenses implanted as part of the surgery.

My eyes are unprotected since cataract surgery. Where was this information when I purchased my Avante? I am very disappointed that this information was not shared when I purchased my first Handiquilter machine and now when I purchased my Avante. Is there a different ‘light’ set up that will not harm my eyes?

Hi Muriel,
Warnings about the use of UV LEDs is found on page 27 of the user manual for the current Avanté, and page 23 of the manual for the previous version of the Avanté that offered UV LEDs as a standard item. The Handi Quilter UV module LEDs reside at the lowest light frequency still considered UV, in the 395 to 400 nanometer wavelength. Please check with your lens manufacturer or surgeon to verify the UV protective characteristics of your lenses.
