Join Handi Quilter National Educators Martha Higdon and Edie Wait in Fremont Nebraska at Neb Quilt Company for this Hands-On Handi Quilter Longarm Event Overview. This will include 3 days of hands-on education, inspiration and fun. Come get your hands on the HQ Amara using free motion and Pro-Stitcher techniques. This is a great opportunity to see if Handi Quilter is right for you and if owning a machine is in your future! Handi Quilter machine specials and financing will be available throughout the event. Classes are limited! – two students per machine. Purchase a machine and get the full cost of your class discounted from the purchase price. Lunch is included in your class fee for all three days.

Day 1 Morning and Afternoon Sessions | Basics of Longarm Quilting (Two 3-hour sessions)
Longarm Machine Quilting Basics
Does longarm quilting interest you, and you’d like to learn more about it? Or do you just want a review of longarm quilting basics? This class removes the mystery of longarm quilting by explaining machine and frame elements and features, how to load a quilt, and vital facts about thread, needles and tension. Handi Quilter longarm machine and frame systems come in various sizes for every budget, and are user-friendly because they are designed by a quilter, for quilters – just like you!
Objective: Learn skills that will help you manages your long-arm machine with confidence
Topics Include:
Basic machine and frame elements and features
Bobbins, tension, needles and thread
How to load a quilt onto a frame
Quilting with Groovy Boards, pantographs, and Rulers
Adjustable and Micro Handles, and basic free-motion
Day 2 Morning Session | Free Motion Quilting Foundations (One 3-hour session)
If you would like to add more designs to your free motion library we will cover the pathway to basic feathers and other free motion designs in this class. We will start with easy ways to quilt beautiful feathers. Build off a basic spine, you’ll learn how to draw different types of feather plumes. We will go into echoing and free motion fill designs that help you showcase your piecing.
Objective: Add the pathway to free motion feathers and other fill designs to your free motion library.
Topics include:
Feather backbones and spines
Feather stitch paths and shapes, making them continuous
Explore different free motion fill designs
Designs in different scales – micro to large
Echoing to enhance designs
Day 2 Afternoon Session | Rule Your Quilts (One 3-hour session)
Hands On Ruler Essentials If you love precision and consistency in your quilting designs, you will love using design rulers and templates! These handy tools assist in placing designs accurately and stitching them out precisely. Learn to handle rulers and templates safely with the ruler base and Sure Foot, and how to achieve accuracy with the markings. The wide variety of Handi Quilter rulers will inspire you to new design heights.
Objective: Learn the safe way to use rulers & templates. See ways that you can incorporate these tools in your quilting

Handle rulers safely
Understand and use ruler markings for precision and accuracy

Day 3 Morning and Afternoon Sessions | Exploring Pro-Stitcher Hands On (Two 3-hour sessions)

User-friendly and simple to operate, the step-by-step process for each function is easy and fun. Whether finishing your own quilts or consider a quilting business, come see the elegant and precise quilting you can accomplish with Pro-Stitcher.
Objective: Students use the Pro-Stitcher to create areas, stitch designs and learn how simple and easy it is to use the Pro-Stitcher.

Basic overview of how to use Pro-Sticher

Set up an edge to edge design three ways
